Rats and mice in the roof or walls?
Scratching in the ceiling at night, droppings in the pantry or chewed packaging are the usual first signs. In Adelaide the common culprits are house mice, roof rats (black rats) and Norway rats. Rodents breed fast, contaminate food, and chew through wiring, which is a real fire risk.
How we get rid of them
- Inspect the roof void, wall cavities, garden and sheds to find where they're living and how they're getting in.
- Bait using tamper-resistant stations, placed where kids, pets and wildlife can't reach.
- Proof the entry points, such as gaps under roof tiles, around pipes and in weep holes, so new rodents can't move in.
- Follow up to check bait take and confirm they're gone.
Signs you have rodents
- Scratching or running noises in the ceiling, especially at night
